About the Job:
This position is a full-time role that involves assisting and supporting the jobsiteSuperintendent in providing direction and oversight of work performed by various crews and subcontractors. The Assistant Superintendent collaborates with others to address issues of job site safety, construction quality, and performance of the established schedule and project plan. The Assistant Superintendent role reports to the Site Superintendent and works in a supporting role for both office and field teams.
Responsibilities:
Supervise, coordinate, direct and monitor the work of all subcontractors to achieve completion of project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to the original plans and specifications.
Maintain a working set of the latest issued construction drawings and specifications.
Perform detailed reviews of construction drawings and notify Superintendent and Project Manager of any discrepancies in the plans.
Convey any plan modifications to subcontractors for execution in the field.
Ensure work quality meets or exceeds company standards and all applicable code and contract requirements.
Initiate, create, distribute and track completion of punch lists for all phases reconstruction.
Monitor and execute the receiving, handling, storage, distribution and documentation of all purchased materials.
Keep the Superintendent briefed at all times of ongoing work, material deliveries, material inventory, project safety and schedule.
Ensure all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to OSHA safety regulations and standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
Liaison with government officials, architects/engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
Assist the Superintendent to maintain necessary paperwork from project startup through closeout.
Establish and maintain a positive working environment.
Assist in ensuring jobsites are kept clean, safe, and secure at all times.
Additional Requirements
Individual must be able to perform job duties safely and productively for a minimum of 8 hours per day. All safety rules and regulations; including the use and wearing of all required personal protective equipment and clothing, and safe lifting techniques, must be followed.
Role Qualifications:
3+ years of construction experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Spanish as a 2nd language is a plus
Strong verbal and written and communication skills
Computer literate
Strong working knowledge and commitment to job site safety
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
Ability to read & interpret architectural blueprints, site plans, and other construction documents.
Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to/from job site.
