Our Founders
Jon Berndsen
President
Jon graduated from the Auburn University School of Architecture and majored in Building Science with a minor in Business Administration. He has over forty years’ experience in both Residential and Commercial construction and has been certified and licensed as a General Contractor since 1986. In 1993, Jon formed The Berndsen Company and in those three decades has been building Atlanta’s finest estates and residences.
A devotee of classical and vernacular architecture, Jon was instrumental in founding the Southeast Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA). Jon is past President of the organization and continues to serve on the Board of Trustees. When not on a job site, Jon can be found restoring vintage aircraft in his workshop or cruising the skies in one of his airplanes.
Scott Berndsen
Vice President
Scott studied Business Management at the University of West Florida and has been with The Berndsen Company from its start. As Vice President of the company, Scott handles billing, finance, job costing, estimating, and programming. His efforts are supported by his skills in database and computer programming, as well as his proficiency in CAD and graphics software. Day to day Scott keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes at The Berndsen Company.
