About the Job:

This is a full-time role who is responsible for the overall on-site management of construction projects, ensuring their successful completion while maintaining a high level of quality, and achieving complete client satisfaction. As a Construction Superintendent, your ownership of projects is essential. This role is ultimately accountable for project preparation and performance. The Construction Superintendent must ensure adequate supervision of critical work, be present on-site during essential project phases, and work closely with the project management team. This role may require more than a 40-hour workweek, and the ability to effectively manage project coverage will directly impact the annual bonus structure and future project assignments. As a Superintendent, you will be involved in all phases of construction using processes and protocols that adhere to our company’s standards and expectations. The Superintendent reports to the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager and works as a supporting role for the office and field teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee initial project organization, scheduling, implementation, and closeout of projects. Familiarize oneself with project plans and specifications provided by the preconstruction team and ensure adherence to the scope and specs.

  • Prioritize on-site presence to maximize project supervision, quality control, and progress monitoring.

  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to address any issues or concerns that may arise during construction.

  • Take ownership of projects, being ultimately accountable for project performance and preparation, even when not on site.

  • Proactively address any personnel or work-related issues, understanding that persistent communication and oversight are integral aspects of the role.

  • Meet or exceed client and vendor deadlines as determined by the Project Management Team and scope of work to ensure client satisfaction with timeliness, accuracy, and communication.

  • Review and recommend changes to the scope, blueprints, plans, related documents and budgets with the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager. Follow proper protocol with project changes to get formal approval and to meet standards set by the project management team or Project Manager.

  • Oversee compliance with the Company’s safety standards and applicable codes and other legal and regulatory requirements by staying informed about relevant codes and ordinances and permit requirements, and by preparing and submitting required documentation and other information to appropriate agencies.

  • Communicate with the project manager to provide regularly scheduled updates on the status of projects, address concerns, and plan specific actions as needed to ensure the on-time and on-budget completion of the projects. Assist in formulating reports regarding such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.

  • Follow a comprehensive quality control plan throughout the life of the project to ensure the project is on time and that all parties are satisfied with the end product. Perform a final walk through with clients, Project Manager, and/or Senior Project Manager to develop a punch list and work to schedule and monitor completion of all remaining items and to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Additional Requirements

Individual must be able to perform job duties safely and productively for a minimum of 8 hours per day. All safety rules and regulations; including the use and wearing of all required personal protective equipment and clothing, and safe lifting techniques, must be followed.

Role Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related field experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer literate and ability to learn company-specific software

  • Leadership skills/ability

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and other construction documents

  • Strong working knowledge and commitment to job site safety

  • Ability to multitask / good time management

  • Professional composure and demonstrated integrity

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Spanish a plus
